Starfish

Starfish are invertebrates. Starfish are echinoderms, which are invertebrates that live on the ocean floor. The word echinoderm means "spiny skin". No echinoderms are found in fresh water. Some species have 40 or more arms. A starfish doesn't have a brain. It can drop off arms as a defensive action to make the predator think that the starfish is dead, but really the starfish is still alive. When one of the starfish's legs fall off it grows two more. Starfish come in a many different colors
